Morgan Takes Thackley Helm

24th September, 2009

Dave Morgan is the new manager of Thackley Football Club.

The ex-Silsden assistant fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Billy Fox early last week.

As a player, Morgan attracted interest from several Football League clubs but, instead, opted for a semi-professional career that included stints with Morecambe, Colne Dynamoes and Guiseley.

In the latter colours, he twice trod the Wembley turf, his first visit - in 1991 - prefacing a victorious FA Vase Final replay at Bramall Lane.

Said Thackley spokesman Christopher Frank: "We are delighted to have secured the services of such a knowledgeable and well respected footballing figure as Dave Morgan. The future is bright and exciting; the recent past has now been laid to rest."

The club would like to take the opportunity to thank all who expressed a speculative interest in the post.
