Adams Is The Main Man

28th May, 2008

Steve Adams has been appointed as the new manager of Maltby Main.

He will replace Robbie Barron who stepped down due to family and work commitments at the end of the season.

Steve has over 38 years of football experience and has been youth team manager at Stocksbridge Park Steels for the past 7 years.

In that time, he had steered the team to three league titles and produced nine players who have progressed to play UniBond League football.

His playing experience includes Sheffield Lane Top, Jubilee Sports, Rawmarsh Welfare and Selby Town whilst he also has coaching experience with Sheffield United Academy.

A spokesperson for the club was clearly delighted with appointment, saying: "Steve has a raft of coaching qualifications, including UEFA B.

"He came across by far as the best candidate from a shortlist of four at the interview stage where he was seen as the ideal candidate for furthering the long-term future of Maltby Main FC."
