Main Hunt For New Manager
28th April, 2008
Robbie Barron has told Maltby Main that he will be unable to continue as manager next season.
He has said that family and work commitments will not allow him to do justice to the role.
The club has thanked him for his efforts in keeping Main in the Premier Division, something they have called "a magnificent achievement" after the club lost 90% of its first choice players in February when Sean Kay resigned.
A number of local players were drafted into the squad and have shone since being signed, such as centre halves Danny Reilly and Alex Wilson, Carl Thornton (five goals in six games), Danny White and Ryan Welsh.
They are all Maltby youngsters who have come through the junior clubs, Maltby Juniors and Birks Holt, and who have been given an unexpected crack at NCEL football.
Robbie will remain an active member of the club in his role as Development Officer.
The club is inviting applications for the vacant manager's position - aspiring applicants should send their CV to John Mills, 11 Norwood Avenue, Maltby, Rotherham, S66 8JG or email the club at enquiries@maltbymainfc.f9.co.uk.
