Spink takes over at Harworth
18th February, 2019
Craig Spink has become the new boss of Harworth Colliery as the club strives to move away from the Toolstation NCEL Division One relegation zone.
He replaces Lee Needham who, along with his management team, parted company with the Colliery after Saturday's 3-2 defeat at AFC Emley, a result that left Harworth four points away from safety in their first season back in the NCEL.
A club statement said: "Craig will be joined by Adam Valente as his assistant and both are ready to come straight in and take training this week ahead of our vital home game versus FC Bolsover (on Saturday), whilst Ben Dixon will remain in his current role as strength and conditioning coach.
"The committee met with Craig this evening after being very impressed with both his CV and his approach to the game, and are delighted that he was able to come straight in to the club.
"Craig ticked every box in what the club are looking for and we look forward to him working with the players this Wednesday.
"Craig, who has worked previously with Worksop Town and more recently this season with Frickley Athletic, is chomping at the bit to get back involved and knows how important the next eleven games are for everyone associated with the football club.
"We wish Craig and Adam all the very best and urge all our supporters to get behind them and the lads this Saturday in what is a must win game at the Jones and Co Recreational Ground."
