Weekend game to raise money for local school
15th January, 2019
Ollerton Town have announced that all gate money taken at their Toolstation NCEL Division One game this weekend will go to a local school to help them buy a much-needed defibrillator.
A recent letter to the club from St Joseph's Academy in Boughton asked for their assistance in raising funds for the primary and nursery school.
Ollerton have said they are more than help and will be handing over the admission money from their home clash with neighbours FC Bolsover on Saturday.
A club spokesperson said: "In the event of catastrophic heart complications, a defibrillator promotes life by up to 50% and as such, with 240 pupils, it is essential that the school has one on the premises.
"Given that it's a local derby, we chose the FC Bolsover fixture in hope that we'll get plenty of people watching to help raise a considerable amount.
"On top of this, several students from the school will also be attending the game, walking round with buckets if anyone attending wishes to make any further donations."
Entry is ?4 for adults, ?3 for concessions and under 16s are free with a paying adult and the club hopes that as many people as possible can come along and help a fantastic cause.
