Camm in quick return to Shirebrook
27th June, 2018
Exactly a month after his departure had been announced at Shirebrook Town, Rob Camm has returned to Langwith Road to resume his role as manager of the Toolstation NCEL Division One side.
He tendered his resignation at the end of May after unrest off-the-field had made him feel he could no longer be part of the club but his comeback has been unveiled on the same day that numerous changes were also made behind the scenes.
Club legend Lee Widdowson will join Camm as his assistant, Chris Timons will also assist whilst being club captain and the first team coach role has been filled by Alan Widdowson.
Camm told the club's website: "It's good to be back, I came in last season because I wanted to help the club and we had some great times on the field.
"Obviously, things weren't going to plan behind the scenes and I felt I had no choice but to step away. I feel now that these issues are being resolved and we need to move forward.
"It's going to be tough - we are under no illusions about that but we will rebuild and we will come back.
"We have a terrific core group of young local players that will have gained valuable experience last season that will play a big part for us.
"The players' loyalty to us last season and again returning this season is fantastic.
"Now, we have to get our heads down and get to back to work."
Shirebrook have also announced that Aimee Radford has temporarily taken the role of chairperson after Cliff Richard Thomas stepped down from his duties at Langwith Road.
Four new committee members have also been appointed to help stabilise the club as it prepares for the 2018/19 season.
