Change of Manager at Hemsworth
23rd April, 2011
Hemsworth Miners Welfare manager Andrew Cracknell will be stepping aside as boss at the end of the season to take up the role of Football Director at the club.
The KoolSport NCEL Division One side have moved quickly to appoint Wayne Benn as his replacement from the start of the next campaign.
Wayne has played at Bradford City and Bradford Park Avenue where he is the record appearance holder.
He also had spells at Frickley Athletic and Wakefield and, among other clubs, he has managed Bradford Park Avenue Reserves.
Wayne will be assisted by Andrew Hayward who will continue to play for the side whilst Rowley Lanes and Darrell Bowman will stay on in their roles as coaches and Tony Poulson is remaining as physio.
A club statement said: "Hemsworth MWFC would like to thank Andy Cracknell for his three years in charge.
"He has worked tirelessly throughout his reign and steered the club to tenth and seventh in the first two seasons in the NCEL.
"This will be the first real disappointing season but he still enjoyed the club's first ever season in the FA Cup.
"Andy will remain in and around the club as he has a lot to offer in overseeing its direction in the future."
