Walden to Step Down at the End of Season
12th January, 2011
Louth Town are disappointed to announce that manager Paul Walden has informed the club of his intention to leave the club at the end of the current campaign.
A statement from the KoolSport NCEL Division One side's boss said: "Yesterday, I informed Steve Clark, the chairman of Louth Town Football Club, of my decision to resign at the end of the current 2010/11 season.
"It has been an enjoyable and successful two-and-a-half seasons so far at Park Avenue.
"It is an extremely hard working football club with fantastic supporters but, unfortunately, the progression off the field hasn't progressed as we would like with the loss of a couple of influential members of the committee due to personal commitments and struggling to appoint new members with the required knowledge to help the club at this level and above.
"We have won back-to-back championships over the last two seasons and are currently only six points off the top of the table and only five off a promotion place, still in the Wilkinson Sword Trophy and in the Semi Final of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy that we were runners-up in last season.
"I have made the decision early to give the club enough time to find a replacement who can build on the foundations we have set up on the field, and I wish everyone connected with the club all the very best for the future."
Louth Town have thanked Paul for his tremendous efforts over the past two-and-a-half years and have wished him every success for the future.
