Shirebrook Town have announced a change of manager with Rudy Funk replacing Dave Rhodes at the helm.

It's a return to the KoolSport NCEL for Funk who guided Rainworth Miners Welfare to the Evo-Stik League in the summer but parted company with them a few weeks ago.

A statement from the Langwith Road side says: "The committee would like to thank Dave for all his hard work as he gave the job his all. The decision has not been made lightly. He is a great man and we wish him all the best in the future.

"Dave will be replaced by Rudy Funk who has been appointed today. Rudy has been informed of the high aspirations of the club and is ready to work with the committee, players and management teams to achieve those aspirations.

"The club is due to make one more appointment to strengthen the commercial side of the football club and are still looking to make further appointments including the position of Chairman.

"The committee would like to thank all involved including the Northern Counties East League and local radio station Mansfield 103.2 for assisting the club to make the necessary appointments and look forwards to their continued support.

"These appointments will ensure this community Football Club is not just sustainable but achieving above and beyond the Shirebrook and surrounding area's expectations.
