Ponte Snap Up Duo

7th July, 2009

Pontefract Collieries have announced the signing of Rob Poulter from Dinnington Town and Dean Twibey from Thackley.

Goalkeeper Rob will be coming into the club as player-coach. He is currently coaching for Sheffield Wednesday and will look after the first team initially before moving on to all age groups within the club.

Rob's previous clubs include Sheffield Wednesday, Gretna, Gainsborough Trinity and Stocksbridge Park Steels before being at Dinnington last season.

Pontefract born Dean has signed for his local team from Thackley and a host of other clubs have been after his signature.

But, having spoken with the manager Simon Houghton and the Chairman Trevor Waddington, he's decided that Ponte has the most ambition and potential.

A defender by trade but who can also play in midfield, his previous club is Scunthorpe United.

As the club aims to build on last season, nearly all the players have re-signed and hopefully in the next few days there will be a few more important signings.
