Worsbrough Bridge Under Water
30th June, 2007
Worsbrough Bridge's Park Road ground is under about fifteen feet of water following the recent deluge of rain in South Yorkshire.
Both the football pitch and the cricket ground have been affected whilst the clubhouse and the officials' changing rooms were flooded to a depth of about 18 inches.
Secretary Charlie Wyatt told the Official NCEL Website: "In truth, we do get the lower half of the pitch flooded from time to time and we know that it recovers fairly quickly.
"But, this is the first time that the water has reached the Clubhouse.
"The damage to carpets, bar fittings and kitchen equipment is extensive and work has already started on the cleaning-up exercise.
"However, we are confident that we will be able to start the season as normal."
