Travel disruption to Robins games

Selby Town are making visiting clubs aware that there will be travel disruption for those making their way to the Robins' ground for matches until September 2020.
The A19 between Eggborough power station and Chapel Haddlesey will be closed for the next six months due to damage caused by recent floods.
Alternative routes into Selby are being advised and the club say they will inform match officials and opposition of the latest situation as games are confirmed.

Robins suffer second break-in in a month

Selby Town have revealed that their ground has been broken into for the second time in under a month, resulting in extensive damage to a seating area.
The Toolstation NCEL Division One side, who are currently celebrating their centenary year, were already reeling from having a number of tools and other tools stolen in a burglary at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium three weeks ago.
A donations page has been set up as the Robins look to purchase security equipment to help prevent something similar happening again.
A statement released on Monday afternoon said: "We're extremely frustrated to report that the club has once again been broken into, and this time extensive damaging has been caused to a seating area within the ground.
"As a non-profit, community football club every pound we raise goes directly into supporting the community and providing a venue for people to meet and enjoy affordable football.
"It's therefore very frustrating to have this continue to happen, more so due to the fact that it is likely to be someone or some people from within the community that is doing it.
"We are now investing in security equipment and intend to prosecute any trespassers to the full extent of the law, as every pound spent repairing damage is a pound taken away from the community.
"We have set up a crowd funding to help support the costs of the security equipment and the repairs that are needed, any support would be most welcome no matter how big or small."

Robins celebrate their centenary this weekend

Selby Town will take on Hall Road Rangers at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium in Toolstation NCEL Division One on Saturday (21st) in a game that will mark one hundred years since the Robins' first ever match.
It will be a very special occasion in the history of the Selby Town and the town as a whole, and the club is hoping that the people of Selby will come out en masse to help them achieve a record attendance to mark the day.
The Robins will be selling a special centenary edition of their matchday programme, with prize winning tickets hidden randomly inside a number of copies for a top prize of £100 in cash.
A spokesman for the club, Dave Haddock, said: "We have been busy celebrating our centenary year in a number of ways over the last few months but Saturday really is the big day for us.
"For a non-league football club run by volunteers to still be going strong one hundred years later is a fantastic achievement and one we're very proud of.
"We hope we can depend on the support of our community to help us celebrate the past and also to join us right at the beginning of the next one hundred years of our history!"
The Robins' first ever game took place on 20th September, 1919, and was played against Rowntrees at their Haxby Road ground and Selby will be looking for a better result this Saturday than the 8-0 loss they suffered that day!
Saturday's game kicks off at 3pm with gates opening at 1.30pm.
It will take place at Selby Town's ground, the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium, at the end of Richard Street (alongside Selby Leisure Centre).
It is a family friendly venue, and a bar, hot food and refreshments will be available.
Entry is £5 for adults, £3 concessions, and ages 14 and under free.
