Grant Takes Manager's Award at Farsley

Farsley AFC capped off their KoolSport NCEL Premier Division championship winning campaign with their end-of-season presentation on Saturday night.Mark Jackson scooped the Supporters' Club Player of the Year at a packed Throstle Nest social club, beating off competition from Simeon Bambrook (third) and midfielder Andy Cooper (second) to win the honour for the second time.
Young full-back Tom Jackson, who scored the first goal of Farsley's incredible fourteen game unbeaten run that saw them storm to the title, was the recipient of the prestigious Players' Player of the Season award.
Manager Neil Parsley gave a speech outlining his thoughts on the season and then announced his Manager's Player of the Season - Gareth Grant, pictured below.
Sponsors Suddards Davies elected also Goal G - one of 34-goal hero Ben Jones' strikes against Arnold Town in February - as the goal of the season with Bernard Wilder winning the prize of a VIP family ticket for a game of his choice for the forthcoming season.

Farsley Goal of the Season Competition

KoolSport NCEL Premier Division leaders Farsley AFC have launched their Goal of the Season competition.Nine goals have been shortlisted from the Throstle Nest side's home games and fans are being asked to select their top three.
Those whose selection matches that of the club's main shirt sponsors, Suddards Davies Associates, will be entered into a draw for a family VIP ticket for any home match next season.

Last Tickets Available For Farsley Dinner

KoolSport NCEL Premier Division leaders Farsley AFC say there are just a few tickets left for their Sportsman's Dinner that takes place later this week.There are three guest speakers lined up for what should be a very entertaining night.
Famous Leeds United winger Eddie Gray, former Yorkshire cricketer Geoff Cope and renowned sports commentator John Helm will be at the event at Throstle Nest.
Tickets cost ?30 and include a three course meal, comedy from Andy Swallow and an auction.
It all takes place on Thursday with a 7pm for 7.30pm start and anyone interested is asked to book by calling Ian Holmes on 07730 566056.

Farsley Discount for League Fans

Farsley AFC chairman John Palmer is calling on local Premier League and Football League fans to come out and support his club in the biggest match in recent years at Throstle Nest on Saturday.
With this weekend free for the top two tiers of the English game due to internationals, the KoolSport NCEL Premier Division leaders are offering season ticket holders from professional Yorkshire clubs a ?1 discount against admission for their crunch game with second-placed Bridlington Town.
Just six points separate the two teams and Bridlington have three games in hand, but high scoring Farsley have a superior goal difference.
The discount means adults can watch what promises to be a great game for just ?4.

Farsley To Have Family Fun Day

Farsley AFC are to officially celebrate their launch with a Family Fun Day at one of their games next month.
Chairman John Palmer has revealed that their home KoolSport NCEL Premier Division match with Selby Town on Saturday 11th September will be extra special.
He said: "We are arranging for a bouncy castle and an inflatable obstacle course whilst there will be some competitions for the kids and the BBQ will be on the go.
"We are hoping to attract families to the event so that they can watch the game as well as keep the kids entertained."
Entertainment will start at 1pm with the event planned to continue into the evening with a disco in the function room.
Palmer hopes that the local community will support the launch in numbers, saying: "We are keen to make it plain that all are welcome at Throstle Nest."
Tickets for the event will be priced at ?15 for a family, with complimentary food included in the price.
Usual matchday fees will apply to the game for supporters wishing just to watch the game.

Three Shirt Sponsors For Farsley AFC

Farsley AFC chairman John Palmer has confirmed the new club's three shirt sponsors for the forthcoming season.Announcing the deals on the club's website, Palmer expressed his delight, saying: "The principal shirt sponsors are Suddard Davies Insurance Brokers. They have been my family's brokers for many years and I am delighted they have agreed to get involved with the club."
The back of the shirt is sponsored by Sportsbulk Suppliers, the club's kit suppliers, and Red, the well-known family run Design, Print and Embroidery company situated on Richardshaw Lane in Pudsey.
Palmer explained: "Suddard Davies are an established business with particular experience in Commercial insurance. Sportsbulk Suppliers have been supporters of this club for many years and Red have been supplying us with merchandise for a couple of seasons.
"All three sponsors offer differing expertise and we are delighted that they have chosen our club to promote their business".
Managing Director Bill Geelan of Suddard Davies expressed his support for Farsley AFC: "We are, of course, absolutely delighted to become associated with Farsley AFC in their inaugural season.
"We have followed the developments at Throstle Nest with interest over the last few months and recognise the work that is being put in to promote the new club.
"We wish Neil and his team the very best of luck for the season ahead".
Russ Crowther, director of Sprtsbulk Suppliers was equally enthusiastic about his company's continued involvement with Farlsey.
He said: "Our company has the privilege of supplying kits for a number of teams throughout the country, but, as all the family are Pudsey residents, it is particularly important for us to support our local team and we are delighted once again to offer our support to Farsley."
Rachel Jolly-Walker of Red added: "We have been providing merchandise for the club for some time now, so it seemed a natural step for us to continue to promote our family run business by being more formally associated with Farsley AFC.
"We are very pleased to have secured this agreement".

Throstle Nest Future Secured

Leeds City Council have bought the Throstle Nest ground from the administrator to help secure Farsley AFC's future.
Local community and sports facilities will also be protected under the deal, which was negotiated with administrators Mazars.
The previous club, Farsley Celtic, went into administration in June 2009.
The Council has also completed a deal to sell on the main part of the football ground to FC2010, the new name for the football club.
But, they retained the ownership of the sports hall and land proposed for new football pitches as assets for the local community.
Cllr Adam Ogilvie, executive member for leisure, said:
"We are delighted that we have been able to safeguard Farsley AFC's facilities - especially the use of the sports hall by the local community and football coaching for young people in West Leeds.
"Completing this deal also allows Chartford Homes to move on with plans for their proposed housing development, which includes making funds available for improvements to the sports hall and the creation of two new junior soccer pitches, improving the leisure facilities for the local population.
"We look forward to following the re-formed club in the league next season and wish them the very best of success in doing the city proud."
