Goole management team depart
20th February, 2020
Matty Bloor and Terry Barwick have resigned as the management team at Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Goole AFC.
The announcement was made by Bloor on social media, saying: "It is with regret that we are stepping down as joint managers of Goole AFC.
"We have thoroughly enjoyed our time as managers of the football club and we thank the volunteers and supporters of Goole AFC for making it a truly memorable time in charge.
"We have tried our very best to not only develop the playing side but to improve the overall ethos of the football club but unfortunately sometimes there are just too many hurdles to climb over.
"We had long discussions after Christmas and, although the circumstances had changed at the club drastically, we wanted to remain loyal and try and build on what we had created.
"Unfortunately, for both ourselves and Goole AFC this perhaps wasn't the right decision but now we feel is the right time to step aside.
"Thanks for everything, great fans and great people."
A club spokesperson commented: "Matty and Terry will be remembered for saving us from relegation on 'Survival Saturday' last April and for giving us such a tremendous start to the current season.
"We would like to thank Matty and Terry for their fantastic efforts and we wish them both well for the future.
"A further statement will be announced in due course."
Goole AFC are currently sixteenth in the Premier Division and will be looking for their first league win of 2020 when they travel to Yorkshire Amateur on Saturday.
