Shirebrook Honour Loyal Servant
17th October, 2007
A special testimonial match takes place next month for one of Shirebrook's most influential players.
Tony Starkey's season was brought to an abrupt halt in August when he suffered a broken ankle and severe damage to ligaments and tendons during a match at home to Brodsworth Welfare.
To honour his contribution to the club's move up the National League System over the past few years, a game has been set up between a team of Shirebrook Legends and a side made up of ex-professionals.
It takes place at Langwith Road on Sunday the 4th of November with a 1pm kick-off and refreshments are available all day.
The NCEL Premier Division side say on their website: "Please come along, bring the family and support a loyal servant of the club."
