Glapwell Complete Phase One
27th June, 2007
After four busy months, Glapwell FC have completed the first phase of their ground development.
Now the club can look forward to the new season knowing that what has primarily been a building site over the last four months has now been converted into a new modern changing room facility and a state-of-the-art physio room.
In addition, they have also now installed a private corporate room to be used as a meeting place for local businesses.
The new incorporated board of directors are looking to develop the facilities at Hall Corner for, not only both the first team and all its affiliated youth teams, but hopefully the community as a whole with a view to enhancing the profile of the village.
With the benefit of a wealth of business experience now on board at the club, help is on hand to support other initiatives within the Glapwell parish and other local areas.
Speaking at the club last week, elected Derbyshire County Councillor, Marion Stockdale, explained: "It is important in this day and age and ever-changing environment that we all continue to develop new partnerships, which I feel the new consortium at Glapwell Football club are genuinely looking to do.
"The amount of money we, as members, are given is to assist community groups and organisations in their patch to continue their good work in the communities, purchasing of essential equipment etc., and to assist in building a strong mutual respect with those who work tirelessly in their villages and towns.
"It is also a recognition of commitment which is hoped will also build a bonding partnership working for the future.
"The ?500 cheque is to help complete the disabled toilet provision at the ground as there is an emphasis on addressing disabled access, so reducing pressures on disabled people of all ages."
