Hall Corner Hosts Festival Of Football

15th April, 2008

Glapwell FC have unveiled a week-long Football Festival at their Hall Corner ground that culminates in an appearance by legend Peter Beardsley.

The former Newcastle United, Liverpool and England midfielder will be part of a Scott Sellars Legends XI that is involved in a charity match on Sunday the 4th of May.

They face a Jamie Walker Select XI to raise money for the Haemotology Department at Kings Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The staff there helped Jamie recover from cancer after he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma two years ago.

It will be a fitting finale to a week of football at Hall Corner that will involve all the youth teams at Glapwell FC.

The timetable is as follows:

Monday 28th April - Glapwell Under 11's Tournament
Tuesday 29th April - Glapwell Under 12's Tournament
Wednesday 30th April - Glapwell Under 13's Tournament
Thursday 1st May - Glapwell Under 9's Tournament
Saturday 3rd May - Glapwell v Lincoln Moorlands
Sunday 4th May - Charity Match - Scott Sellars XI v Jamie Walker XI
