Dronfield's new signing is a club chaplain

15th November, 2019

Dronfield Town have unveiled a new face at the Toolstation NCEL Division One side, bringing in Reverend Joel Bird as their club chaplain.

Joel is based at St Phillips Church in Dronfield, does lots of work within the community and his role will be to help deal with any issues or problems being experienced by players, fans or anyone else connected with the club.

A spokesperson said: "He loves coffee and a chat! He’s a Southampton fan!

"You will see Joel at games down at the HE Barnes stadium and we will also be taking him to Gosforth Fields.

"Joel is there if anybody needs support, just wants a chat and he’s very much focussed on supporting mental health and wellbeing in the community."

Anyone wishing to have a chat or to meet him can also contact him by email at therev@dronfieldtownfc.com.
