Staveley Charity Day Against Scarborough
25th November, 2007
Staveley Miners Welfare's main sponsor will donate money to charity if their record attendance is broken next Saturday.
The Inkersall Road side welcome Scarborough Athletic on the 1st of December and are looking to beat their previous best crowd of 280.
That happened when they played against Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup on the 22nd of January, 1994.
The club have announced that if that record is broken then their main sponsor, Baris Group Ltd, will donate ?500 to two charities that are local to the communities of Staveley and Scarborough.
Children under 16 and pensioners will also be allowed free admission to next week's game.
The club will have a representative inside the ground who will take note of the charity that supporters from Staveley and Scarborough want the ?500 to be sent to.
Entrance prices to the game will remain the same whilst refreshments will also be at the normal prices.
There is no alcohol available on the ground but the Staveley Miners Welfare Club that is two hundred yards from the ground will be open to both sets of supporters from noon.
