Gedling Management Duo Go To UniBond
20th November, 2007
NCEL Division One highflyers Gedling Town are looking for a new management team after Lee Wilson and Jimmy Albans moved to Shepshed Dynamo.
After rumours on various messageboards including the Unofficial NCEL Forum, the UniBond side announced the appointment on their website earlier today.
It follows the departure of Martin Rowe from the Leicestershire outfit at the beginning of the month.
There had been speculation that Wilson may have been frustrated by lack of money for players at the Riverside Ground.
But, Gedling Town chairman Roland Ash said: "The reason given by Lee was the challenge to manage at a higher level - that was the only reason and no other.
"However, we are very disappointed after both managers did agree, when appointed, that they would be here till the end of season and beyond.
"It is that part of the whole episode that has hurt the directors and committee but we have agreed with Lee that there will be no mud-slinging by either side and agreements have been reached.
"We bear no malice to him and wish him personally the very best in his footballing time.
"Naturally, we are disappointed he has gone but do wish him well as he has conducted himself correctly."
