Gedling Town have urged locals to get down to the Riverside Ground and cheer their side on.

They begin their NCEL Division One campaign with a home game to one of the sides being hotly tipped for promotion, newcomers Leeds Met Carnegie.

Gedling chairman, Roland Ash, said: "We have also produced a very good squad this season and have had a great pre-season but we do need support now that local teams have gained promotion.

"We need the local support to allow Gedling a chance to attempt for promotion this season.

"And, with the entrance fee the lowest in the area, fans can be sure of value for money.

"So, all you non-league fans come and give us the support as, without you, we are not a team."
