Gedling Preparations On Track
7th July, 2007
Division One side Gedling Town are very happy with their pre-season preparations so far.
Chairman Roland Ash told the Official NCEL Website: "We have been training for two weeks now and the turn-out has been fantastic with some 24 players all involved.
"The management team have been very busy in recruiting players and, with several putting pen to paper, it's looking good.
"The spirit in the camp is excellent and I have never been so upbeat prior to the start of a season, although there is, I am sure, other clubs feeling the same way.
"New backroom staff have been recruited including a new fully-accredited physio who comes from the University of Hull.
"A team coach has been provided by Premier Travel, the same bus Notts County Reserves use.
"Despite a new management team, last year's players will be given a fair chance this season along with the rest.
"One player who has left, though, is Andy Jones who has been offered excellent terms by Belper Town.
"We could not get anywhere near the offer and he goes with our best wishes.
"Gedling are waiting on the decision of two ex-Conference players to sign and we feel confident they will join us.
"The FA and the BBC have visited the ground and gave an excellent report regarding our set-up and I must say it does look brilliant this year round.
"I must say thank you to all the staff at Gedling for all the hard work and, hopefully, we will see more people come and support us at our home games."
