Wilson Starts To Make His Mark
28th June, 2007
Gedling Town have signed former Eastwood Town and Gresley Rovers star Matt Millns on a one-year contract.
New boss Lee Wilson has also recruited former Shirebrook keeper Louis Sprigg and Ben Cobbley, who has experience with Rainworth and Sutton.
"I'm delighted to get Matt, there were a number of clubs in for him. It is a great signing for the club," said Wilson.
"I have known him a long time and he said last year that he would play for me, no matter where I went.
"Louis is only 18 and is on Rotherham's books. He is a quality keeper; good physique; kicks it a mile.
"I took Cobbley to Sutton after spotting him with Rainworth Reserves. He has the ability to play at a higher level."
Gedling report back for training today and Wilson says he will look at any local players who can make the grade.
"When you've got no money you have to try to pick up a few from local football," he said.
"I can't wait to get started."
