The final midweek Toolstation NCEL action of 2019 saw the last two places filled in the Fourth Round of the League Cup whilst Hemsworth Miners Welfare missed out on a chance to go top of the Premier Division.Knaresborough Town
and Yorkshire Amateur
complete the line-up for the last sixteen after victories for the Premier Division sides over Division One opposition.
Knaresborough travelled to Armthorpe Welfare
and fell behind to a 29th minute penalty that was converted by Adam Baskerville.
But, they rallied and were ahead by the break through Luke Stewart and Jack Carr before William Lenehan made sure of their progression with their third on 86.
The Ammers also conceded first in their home clash with Hallam
, Christopher Samuels putting the Countrymen into a twelfth minute lead, but the hosts were 3-1 up at the interval, courtesy of goals from Aiden Savory, Harrison Blakey and Niall Heaton.
Roy Fogarty increased their lead before Callum Greaves pulled one back midway through the second period but any hopes of a Hallam comeback were quickly snuffed out as Fogarty's second and a Stephen Crawford strike saw the home side through with a 6-2 victory.
In the Premier Division, a win for Hemsworth would have seen them leapfrog Penistone Church to the summit but they were held to a goalless draw by visitors Handsworth
who climb up to fifteenth.
Meanwhile, there was disappointment in the West Riding County Cup as Goole AFC
, who had been reinstated into the competition, saw their match at former NCEL side Pontefract Collieries postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
