Handsworth announce change of manager

17th October, 2021

Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Handsworth have announced the departure of manager Russ Eagle, two-and-half-years into his third spell as boss at the Ambers.

The club revealed on Saturday afternoon that they had relieved him of his duties last Monday with immediate effect.

Eagle had taken over in May 2019, coming back to a club that he had guided to the Division One title and Presidents Cup triumph in the 2011/12 campaign, and leaves with them mid-table in the Premier Division.

Aiden Spowage and Jason Dodsworth, who were his assistants, step up to become joint managers and took charge for the first time in Saturday's 1-0 league victory at Thackley.
