Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2021/22 #39

22nd December, 2021

There was disappointment for two Toolstation NCEL sides as they bowed out of their county cup in the last round of matches before Christmas on Tuesday night.

Joseph Crosby put Harrogate Railway Athletic ahead twenty minutes into their tie at home to Steeton in the Second Round of the West Riding County Cup to add to the four goals that he netted at the weekend.

But, their visitors from the North West Counties Football League immediately equalised and then grabbed an early second-half winner to go through to the Quarter-Finals with a 2-1 victory.

Garforth Town, meanwhile, were beaten 3-1 at Vanarama National League North side Farsley Celtic at the same stage, Jed Zanos getting a consolation on the hour mark after their hosts had scored all of their goals in the opening period.

And, in the one Premier Division game, Eccleshill United were comfortable 4-0 home winners over Handsworth to move within two points of leaders Grimsby Borough.

Sumaili Cissa made the breakthrough on 23 minutes with Aiden Day doubling their advantage just before the interval.

Luke Aldrich added a third and Day's second completed the scoring on 61 to give the Eagles an eight point cushion in second whilst Handsworth stay fifth.
