Winterton Rangers booked their place in the Semi-Finals of this season's Lincolnshire Senior Trophy with a 3-1 home win over Boston Town in midweek.In what was one of three Quarter-Final ties played, all involving Toolstation NCEL sides, Rangers fell behind to an early opener from their Uhlsport United Counties League opponents.
But, Matthew Allison drew them back level on 27 minutes and Winterton then quickly took the lead through Junior Okojie before Gareth Barlow ensured the victory with a late third.
They will be joined in the last four by
Bottesford Town who won 1-0 at home to Sleaford Town, courtesy of a 49th minute deadlock breaker from Kieran McCaffrey, making it three NCEL sides remaining in the competition along with Brigg Town.
Grimsby Borough came from behind to lead 3-1 at home to Skegness Town, thanks to goals from Adam Drury, Caine Winfarrah and Lewis Collins.
But, they could not make it a clean sweep of our clubs in the Semi-Finals as, with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining, their visitors scored three times in nine minutes to take away a dramatic 4-3 victory.
There was also disappointment in the Notts Senior Cup as
AFC Mansfield and
Teversal bowed out at the Second Round stage.
Thomas Cropper levelled on 74 minutes to force a penalty shoot-out for Mansfield after a 1-1 draw with Newark but their visitors went through 4-3 on spot kicks whilst Teversal were beaten 2-0 at Selston.
Meanwhile,
Albion Sports were 1-0 home victors over Ossett United, Robbie Fox with the 21st minute winner to send the Lions through from their West Riding County Cup Second Round tie.
There was also league action with
Emley AFC on the rampage at home in a 7-0 win over
Handsworth, Joe Jagger with a hat-trick for the Pewits whilst Joseph Kenny, Max Tweddle, Lewis Whitham and James Eyles also got on the scoresheet.
The win moves Emley eight points clear of the bottom two in seventeenth whilst Handsworth remain six points away from the top two in fifth.
Penistone Church's 2-1 win at next-to-bottom
Hemsworth Miners Welfare sees them climb into eighth spot, Ryan Johnson with their 66th minute decider after Jason Davis had cancelled out their opener from Nathan Keightley.
Hallam move up into second, five points behind Division One leaders North Ferriby, following a 4-0 victory at
Ollerton Town, Liam Royles opening the account with a penalty before a Christopher Salt double and an Iren Wilson strike sealed the three points.
The Countrymen leapfrog
Brigg Town who went down 3-2 at
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, Conor Glavin, Lewis O'Connor and Luke Francis with the home side's goals as they move up into seventh.
Joshua Batty netted twice for the Zebras who will rue missing out on a chance to close the gap on the summit to three points.
And,
Hall Road Rangers are up to thirteenth as they beat hosts
Rainworth Miners Welfare 3-2, Conner Harman with a double after, through Morgan Boyle and Alexander Hardman, the Wrens had taken an early 2-0 lead and James Piercy had halved the deficit for the visitors.
