Tributes paid to Tony and Stan
9th February, 2022
The Toolstation NCEL would like to send its deepest condolences to Armthorpe Welfare and Ollerton Town following the sad news of the passing of long-time servants of those clubs.
Armthorpe have announced that former secretary and programme editor Tony Ingram (pictured left) passed away recently, aged 79.
A tribute from the club read: "Tony was involved with Hatfield Main throughout the 1990s, spending many years as programme editor there.
"However, on the demise of Hatfield Main in 2003, he began to support Armthorpe Welfare where he initially became programme editor and then subsequently club secretary before stepping down from the role in 2010.
"Tony was a well-known figure on the NCEL scene and for some twenty years he accompanied Bruce Hatton on many matchday inspections for the NCEL which made him a familiar face to many of the league’s member clubs.
"Tony will be sorely missed on the local football scene where he made many football friends."
And, Ollerton are "terribly saddened at the passing of club treasurer Stan Hall."
An announcement on the club's social media feeds said: "As well as serving as our club treasurer, Stan was previously our club secretary and sat on the club’s management committee for many years.
"Stan was an integral part of the club and he shared in everyone’s desire to be the best we could be, playing an active role in our current attempts to finalise a lease for our Walesby Lane home."
We send our thoughts to both clubs and to the family and friends of Tony and Stan.
