25th April, 2007
Congratulations to Lincoln Moorlands who have tonight lifted the Lincolnshire Senior "A" Cup.
They beat United Counties Premier champions Deeping Rangers 3-1 at Lincoln City's Sincil Bank Stadium.
Hopefully, it will be the first in an NCEL County Cup double victory this week.
Arnold Town take on UniBond side Eastwood Town at Notts County's Meadow Lane Ground in the Final of the Notts Senior Cup tomorrow evening.
Moorlands Part Company With Ranshaw
25th March, 2007
Lincoln Moorlands have announced that they have dismissed player-manager Rick Ranshaw.
He was sacked on Friday night according to a statement on their official club website.
In it, club secretary Graham Peck says: "Some of us have been concerned over the last few weeks at the lack of discipline of Rick.
"We felt there were a number of players who might not be happy playing under him.
"This we could not have within the Club.
"The final straw came against Worsbrough Bridge when we found his on-field attitude towards the match officials to be unacceptable and there was an issue after the game.
"If we are to progress as a Club we need to be focused on what we are doing not waging personal battles.
"The Club does wish to put on record our thanks to Rick - a first managerial job is never easy, as in the early parts of the season he did a good job for us."
He also revealed that Assistant Darren Dye has now been put in charge, adding: "We have put our faith in Darren to the end of the season and we have already seen that the players are happy with that decision.
"If Darren does well then we will be looking to support him towards next season."
Ranshaw, meanwhile, has joined fellow Division One side Gedling Town as a player.

Moorlands Announce Promotion Plans
8th February, 2007
Plans are afoot at Lincoln Moorlands to upgrade their changing rooms over the next few months in order to be considered for promotion.
Vice-Chairman Stuart Gordon is currently drawing up the plans to submit to the Northern Counties East League.
And, if approved, it will mean that, provided they are in the top four spots, then promotion to the Premier Division could be achieved.
Gordon said: "This is great news for the team as it gives us a goal and the players something positive to play for.
"Of any one wants to help out with this project or can offer any funding of any description then please please contact me or the Secretary, Graham Peck."

Moorlands Lose Midfielder
17th December, 2006
Lincoln Moorlands have confirmed that midfielder Mark Foster has quit the club in order to seek a return to his former side, Stamford AFC.
Secretary Graham Peck told the club's official website: "We are disappointed that, after such a short time, he has seen fit to leave as he was a useful asset here.
"We understand he was disappointed with the level of football and the club as a whole.
"Well, that is his view and it's a pity but, as a Club, we will move on without him and whoever fills his role will hopefully grab the opportunity with both hands.
"We have Ross Fleming and Chris McDonald, both of whom probably give more in terms of passion, and I am sure they will battle it out for the midfield slot."

Moorlands Appeal To Youngsters
5th September, 2006
Lincoln Moorlands have announced a new scheme to attract young people to the ground.
The club has agreed that all youngsters under the age of 14 will be admitted free on match days who are accompanied by a full paying adult.
Secretary Graham Peck said: "Although we have had only two games at home, we are encouraged that there are more supporters coming through the gate and is showing a 10% increase in attendances at those two games.
"We hope that what is happening at the club is attractive for people to come and watch - we are scoring goals and most importantly of all we have only been beaten once in five competitive games.
"The success of a team is not only players but also getting supporters to come and cheer the players on and create a good atmosphere.
"We hope to write to the local schools as well as we want them involved at Moorlands.
"Children are the lifeblood of local football and not everyone can afford Lincoln City.
"Our maximum entrance charge is just ?3 plus ?1 for a good programme so we provide excellent value for money."

Moorlands Bolster Defence
29th August, 2006
Lincoln Moorlands have secured the signature of Nettleham central defender Paul Hodds.
Hodds has been tracked by the club since the middle of last season and the player has finally decided to join the Moors in order to step up a level.
Secretary Graham Peck said: "We are delighted to have Paul on Board and he will make his debut against Gedling Town on Wednesday night.
"He is the sort of defender we are looking for and we think he has been playing at too low a level at Nettleham.
"He has a reputation as being one of the best defenders in the County at Non-league level and we are pleased to give him the opportunity to see what he can do.
"With the quality and experience of Wayne Hallcro alongside him we are sure they will be formidable."

Moorlands Say Farewell To Lund
22nd August, 2006
This weekend will mark the departure of possibly one of the best players that Lincoln Moorlands have recruited in recent years.
The Club will be saying "goodbye" to wing back Rob Lund on his departure to a football coaching job in America.
He'll be there for at least the next eighteen months, having completed his University training in Lincoln.
Secretary Graham Peck says on the club's website: "Former Manager John Priestley brought Lund to the Club some 18 months ago and has proved to be a huge find.
"Lund has pace and a great left foot that not only created goals but also when playing forward he could score them.
"A very quiet unassuming lad he will be hard to replace in footballing terms.
"The club though would like to put on record our good wishes to Rob in his new career and thanks for his hard work and dedication to Moorlands Football Club, who will be retaining his registration should he return to these shores."

Two More Join Moorlands
8th August, 2006
Two more new faces have arrived at Division One club Lincoln Moorlands.
Both made impressive debuts in the 4-2 win at Nationwide North side Gainsborough Trinity on Friday night.
Midfielder Nick Mason has joined from Eagle Bitter United Counties League Premier Division side Wellingborough Town having been a regular at the Dog & Duck.
However, due to travelling restrictions from Lincolnshire to Northamptonshire and a change of management, Mason has decided to play his football locally.
The second play to join the Moorlands 'revolution' is 19-year-old striker Craig Bridge, who has been released by UniBond Division One neighbours Lincoln United.
Bridge scored a goal at Gainsborough just 10 minutes after coming on to mark his debut in style, even if there was more than a hint of offside!
However, Bridge, who joined United from Retford United, looks an exciting project and did himself no harm in his brief performance with a possible view to finding his way immediately into the first-team squad.

Moorlands Sign Trio
3rd August, 2006
Lincoln Moorlands have bolstered their squad with three significant signings.
All three players have featured in pre-season friendlies and have made a significant contribution to some of the performances, notably the wins against Coalville Town and local rivals Lincoln United.
First to put pen to paper was central defender Graeme Hodgson who was a young player under John Priestley at Moorlands four years ago.
Hodgson then left to skipper NCEL Premier side Arnold Town before moving on to United Counties Premier side Bourne Town.
Hodgson was quickly followed by the signing of Jim Neil who was a long serving stalwart of Grantham Town and more recently Stamford.
Although he originally signed for the Lincolnshire side, Neil asked for his release to come to Moorlands.
He has already scored one goal and his free kicks cause defenders many problems.
Completing the trio is Wayne Halcro, another player who has played for some years at Grantham Town but last season was in the centre of defence at NCEL Division One rivals Gedling Town, ironically Moorlands' first League opponents of the season.
Halcro is a tough defender but he is equally at home in midfield.
Manager Rick Ranshaw, who is pleased with all three signings, said: "We do not have a lot of money to play with but these signings will add bite to the side and, more importantly, a lot of experience to bring the younger players on.
"I hope to have another signing in a day or two, although I hope Darren Dye and I can still bring in a couple more in the future.
"We have competition for places and we have always said any player who deserves to play will and anyone who we think is not delivering will be dropped.
"We also have good crop of players in the Reserves this year who are playing in the Central Midlands Reserve League so the club is looking very healthy at present with a good feeling around the place."

Code Of Conduct At Moorlands
1st August, 2006
Lincoln Moorlands have launched a "Code of Conduct" to ensure that the club is always "held with the highest of reputations."
Speaking on the club's official website, secretary Graham Peck said: "Many clubs have adopted similar documents to set out a clear expectation of what is required within the club by both players and club staff.
"All too often we see and hear of some appalling things happening at some clubs and have no intention of ruining our reputation as a friendly community football club.
"Things will happen on the field and that is part of the game, but off the field everything should be forgotten over a friendly beer or two.
"This includes the respect of match officials whether home or away.
"In simple terms, if players do not want to co-operate in making this club a success and have a tremendous club spirit then action will be taken.
"Respect is a word not used often enough in football and we want to put the word at the heart of what we do and in whom we deal with."

Friendly Change For Moorlands
19th July, 2006
Lincoln Moorlands' home friendly with Nettleham, due to take place tomorrow evening, has been postponed but the Division One club have quickly found a new opponent.
They will now face fellow NCEL side Sutton Town at their Newark Road Ground, kick-off is at 7.30pm.
Manager Rick Ranshaw has earmarked some more trialists to play in the game plus some players returning from holiday.
And, he wants to build on the excellent result at Deeping Rangers on Saturday.
They beat the United Counties League outfit, 1-0, with a team that contained no less than five sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds, some of whom are still at school.
Ranshaw said: "Everyone has a chance of making it to the first team and, with eight friendlies, there is plenty of opportunity to impress.
"From my point of view, everyone has worked incredibly hard so far and the team spirit is exceptional with everyone wanting to be part of the rejuvenation of the club."
