Tevendale Stays At Sandygate
31st May, 2008
Hallam Football Club have been given a massive boost after their top goalscorer in the 2007/08 season agreed to stay for another year.
James Tevendale has decided to stop at Sandygate, much to the delight of his boss Darren Bland.
Hallam's manager said: "I am over the moon that James has decided to stay at Hallam.
"Any player that scores 33 goals in a season is bound to attract attention and sure enough James has.
"But James can see what were trying to achieve at Hallam and he wants the same things!
"This is a massive signing for us and shows this season we mean business.
"I feel, if we can add another three or four new faces to last season's squad, we wont be far away."

Hallam Chairman To Step Down
23rd April, 2008
Ernie Forrest will be standing down from his position of Chairman of NCEL Premier Division side Hallam FC at the end of the season.
His decision is due to business and family commitments as he feels he can no longer give the time that the position warrants and believes it to be in the best interest of the club to step down from the post.
He will, however, be continuing his long association with the club and expects to remain an active member of the Management Committee.
The club has appointed Vice Chairman, Mr Peter Hogan, as Acting Chairman and is expected to be elected to the position of Chairman at the club's AGM in July.
It is hoped he will be at the forefront in leading Hallam FC into its 150th anniversary year in 2010.

Hallam Keen To Keep Up With Rivals
6th August, 2007
Hallam FC are determined not to be left behind in Sheffield's non-league footballing stakes.
Rivals Sheffield FC have just been promoted from the Northern Counties East league and are joining Stocksbridge higher up the soccer pyramid in the UniBond South.
Coming on top of a mediocre season which saw Hallam come fourteenth out of twenty, and now staring at a 2007-8 fixture list without the highlight of a city derby, it makes for a potentially depressing picture.
But the Sandygate club are determined to make their mark when the serious action starts.
They have recruited two ex-Sheffield players in Ryan O'Carroll and Ben Cressey and extended the squad further with Staveley's Rob Cam, Danny Bainbridge and Adam Tyler.
Retford's Will Tomlinson and Rossington's Nicky Scaife are newcomers too.
Hallam, who have lost marksman Scott Bates to newly-promoted
NCEL rivals Parkgate, are adamant they can grab their share of the non-league market.
Secretary Mark Radford said: "Last season's fourteenth spot was disappointing, considering we were third at Christmas.
"Our home form was dreadful, which is a shame because our ground used to be a fortress.
"But, our signings should make us a better team, on top of the nucleus we retained. We're looking for a top-six slot."

Former Hallam Player Signs For Bury
26th July, 2007
Ben Leonard, who plied his trade with Hallam last season, is on the verge of joining League Two outfit Bury on a professional contract.
The This Is Lincolnshire website reports that it is a meteoric rise for the 23-year-old midfielder.
Two months ago, he was lining-up for Pack Horse Celtic in the final of the Meadowhall Sunday League Cup in his hometown of Sheffield.
Leonard was one of several trialists on show during the 1-0 victory over Radcliffe Borough last week, where he impressed sufficiently to earn a 12-month deal at Gigg Lane.
The young midfielder had also played for Dinnington Town in the Northern Counties League, an organisation which also reared former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United star Scott Sellars.
He was spotted by chief scout Gary Simpson playing parks football and director of football, Keith Alexander, who has never been afraid to dip his toe into the non-league waters in the past, hopes Leonard will continue his progress at Bury.
First team boss Chris Casper has also been impressed with Leonard during his first full week at the club - and said the player can cope with his Roy of the Rovers entrance into league football.
"It's what Bury Football Club is all about," said Casper.
"Ben is very effective and he deserves his shot. He hasn't been in a professional environment before, but he is a grafter.
"He is a plasterer by trade, so he knows what a hard day's work is all about. He is a very physical and competitive midfielder, which is hard to find these days."
