Cleethorpes Agree Kit Deal with Jako

7th June, 2014

Cleethorpes Town have agreed a kit partnership with German sports brand Jako which will see the club wearing the brand next season and going forward.

The Owls, who have just been crowned champions of Toolstation NCEL Division One, have attracted a great deal of attention from many top sports brands recently due to their success on and off the field.

However the club have settled for a lucrative deal with German sports brand Jako which is distributed under license by local mail order company Pro Active Teamwear of New Waltham.

Jako have a high profile in Europe and worldwide with German Bundesliga team Hannover 96, Young Boys Bern from Switzerland, Sturm Graz of Austria and SC Herenveen of Holland. They are also the official kit partner to national sides Luxembourg, Jordan and Moldova who came up against England last year in the World Cup qualifying rounds.

Here in the UK, Jako are the 'Official Match Ball Supplier' to the Football Conference League which includes Grimsby Town who are currently using the footballs. Jako also supply Conference clubs Tamworth, Hyde and Leamington, Sir Alex Ferguson's first managerial club East Stirlingshire and Women's Premier League clubs Doncaster Belles and London Bees.

Alan Boyington, vice chairman of Cleethorpes Town commented: "We are very pleased to continue our partnership with Pro Active Teamwear and enhance our association with the Jako brand.

"We have been presented with some impressive and innovative deals from various parties during this kit procurement review. As always, the primary goal was to secure value for money for the many junior and senior teams we represent. The Jako Direct Partner deal is a great all round package which delivers a quality product.

"Another factor in our decision was that we are able to continue to support a fantastic local business. We know Glen and his team have worked hard on this, against some tough competition and we very much appreciate their efforts."
