Borough Announce New Chairman
9th April, 2014
Grimsby Borough have announced the appointment of Simon Harris as the club's new chairman.
He takes over from Ken Vincent who stepped down last month due to personal reasons.
Speaking to the club's website Harris said: "I am very proud to have been asked to take the post of chairman. Grimsby Borough is a great club with a great bunch working hard on and off the pitch. I have had previous experience working in the Northern Premier League both locally and further afield and I hope that some of the experience that I have gathered will help me to install a true team attitude with everybody at the club."
Harris continued to say: "I would like to thank Ken Vincent for his hard work in taking Borough to our current position and I look forward to working with Ken and the superb junior set up we have in the new post as junior chairman. We have a very busy few months coming up and, along with the end of the season, we have the visit of Ron Atkinson for the club's tenth anniversary which I am sure will be a great evening.
"Tickets will go on sale next week and it will be a scramble as we've already had a lot of interest. If anyone would like to support the club by either coming to the dinner or by sponsoring the club then they can sponsor me directly on 07716 807613.
"Borough is a true amateur club club and with great ambition. The future is a very bright one."
