Charity Game at Sandygate
21st March, 2014
Chris Waddle brings his All Star team to Hallam's Sandygate ground on Sunday for a charity game in aid of the Sheffield Cathedral Archer Project for the homeless and vulnerable.
The gates open at the Oldest Football Ground in the World at midday with the first game against The Firm, a team of local business people captained by Mick Fox who have paid for the pleasure of lining up against a team of famous ex-local professionals including the likes of Carlton Palmer, David Holdsworth, David Hirst and John Sheridan.
There will be a raffle to take part in a half time penalty shoot-out and then the Waddle All Stars will retake the pitch for the second game against the Hallam All Stars who will include Lee Bullen and Adam "The Bomber" Etches in their team.
The events team from Hallam University who have put a lot of hard work into organising the event with the assistance of Hallam's Kevin Scott and, of course, Chris Waddle himself hope to raise in excess of ?2,000 for the charity.
Tickets are available on the gate priced at ?5.00.
