Gee Takes Over at Shirebrook
26th October, 2013
Former Rainworth Miners Welfare boss Kevin Gee has taken charge at NCEL Division One side Shirebrook Town this week.
This was after former manager Julian Watts and the club parted company following their 1-1 away draw at Hemsworth Miners Welfare last Tuesday night.
Speaking about Watts' departure, Shirebrook president James Doody said: "The decision has not been an easy one for the club to take and both chairman Dan Marsh and me would like to thank Julian for his efforts and wish him every success in the future."
Gee was appointed by Shirebrook on Wednesday and he was officially introduced to the club committee and playing squad at team training the following night.
Doody said: "Kevin has 25 years of management experience in the local area, most recently at Evo-Stik side Rainworth, and he will bring his undoubted enthusiasm, hard work, organisation and drive to the club."
Mark Camm and Danny Bacon are staying on at Shirebrook to assist Gee and his first game in charge will be their big local derby on Saturday against Clipstone at Langwith Road.
