AFC Emley will take on Sheffield United in a friendly next week to mark the start of the partnership formed between the two sides.

It will take place at the Welfare Ground on Wednesday 23rd October, kick-off 8pm.

An Emley side featuring players from all three of the club's teams, including the one that takes part in Toolstation NCEL Division One, face the Blades Academy side.

Entry is £3 including a programme, £2 concessions whilst AFC Emley members get in for free and also get a free programme.

AFC Emley announced the link-up with the Sky Bet League One side in the summer.

The Pewits are one of five clubs the Blades have selected for a partnership around Yorkshire/North Derbyshire, including another NCEL side, Hallam.

As well as the friendly, there will also be opportunities for Emley's coaching staff to observe and learn from their counterparts at Bramall Lane.

The move has come about because Sheffield United are hoping to tap into talent closer to home and develop stronger links across the area.
