Blades to Visit Phoenix Park
30th September, 2013
Dinnington Town have announced that Sky Bet League One side Sheffield United will be sending a team to Phoenix Park next week.
The game was originally a pre-season friendly but commitments by both sides meant the game had to be put on hold.
A statement from the club, announcing the game, said: "As it turns out, the game now comes at a time when Town need your support and extra revenue from a bumper crowd.
"As things stand, Town are struggling financially both on and off the field - with lower attendances and lack of any major sponsorship this season is a real struggle.
"With other clubs being able to attract players by the offer of good money, this is not an option at Dinnington Town so we have to rely on the loyalty and commitment of our squad.
"So, please come out and give us your support on the night and help keep this club going, or if any companies wish to sponsor the club or the match please do not hesitate to contact us. The club needs you."
The game will be played on Tuesday 8th October, ko 7:45pm.
Meanwhile, Dinnington's trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup will take place on the following evening, Wednesday 9th October, ko 7:45pm.
