Charter Standard Status for Borough
25th September, 2013
Less than three months since Grimsby Borough merged with Grimsby Soccer Club - now Grimsby Borough Juniors - the club has reached one of its first aims.
The merger, which took place to help put a better structure into junior development, took place on Monday 1st July.
The first aim was the training of coaches to give them better skill that they could pass on the players. This course was passed by every manager with flying colours.
This allowed Borough to then apply for Full Club Charter Standard status with all managers being qualified to at least FA Level One coaching standard.
It was confirmed yesterday that Grimsby Borough's application to become an FA Charter Standard club allows all its sides to wear the Charter Standard logo on their sleeves as of 23rd September.
Borough's first game as a Charter Standard club sees them face Cleethorpes Town tonight in their first ever major derby since the original merger.
