Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2013/14 #22
25th October, 2013
Tadcaster Albion moved to the top of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division with their victory in midweek.
Tony Hackworth's 70th minute penalty earned them a 1-0 win at Athersley Recreation to see them climb above Thackley and Retford United who both dropped points.
Thackley were beaten 3-1 at Worksop Parramore whilst Retford drew 1-1 at home to Armthorpe Welfare.
Brighouse Town stay fourth after their 9-1 thumping of Winterton Rangers, Ryan Hall getting a hat-trick for the hosts, whilst goals in the last five minutes at Glasshoughton Welfare saw Pickering Town snatch a 2-1 victory to stay in fifth spot ahead of Parramore.
Barton Town Old Boys won 2-0 at home to Staveley Miners Welfare and Maltby Main were also victors on their own patch, 3-1 over Basford United.
And, there were draws for Bridlington Town, 3-3 with visitors Liversedge, and Heanor Town who held hosts Long Eaton United, 1-1.
Bottesford Town moved up into the second spot in Division One by winning 3-0 at the side they replace, Cleethorpes Town, courtesy of goals from Martin Pembleton, Daniel Gibbons and Craig Bridge.
Fourth-placed Worsbrough Bridge Athletic drew 2-2 at Eccleshill United despite being two goals ahead after just half-an-hour.
There was little joy for the bottom three as basement side Louth Town were defeated 1-0 at Yorkshire Amateur, Hallam went down by the same scoreline at Pontefract Collieries and Appleby Frodingham drew 2-2 at Hall Road Rangers.
There were away wins for AFC Emley, 4-3 at Clipstone, and Knaresborough Town who defeated Rossington Main, 4-2.
Dronfield Town went down 3-1 at Selby Town and there was a 1-1 draw between Hemsworth Miners Welfare and Shirebrook Town.
