Garforth fan gets on his bike for charity
25th June, 2023
Keith Miller, a fan of Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Garforth Town, set off on a bike ride with his friend last weekend to raise money for a children's charity.
Keith, who also supports Everton, cycled the 150-mile journey from Garforth's Bannister Prentice Stadium to the new Toffees ground at Bramley Moore Dock in Liverpool.
Alongside him was Darren Lloyd, who is a fan of South Shields and Sunderland, as they raised funds for Zarach, a Leeds charity that delivers beds and basics to youngsters living in poverty crisis who are going to sleep hungry and cold.
Garforth Town co-chairmen Craig Bannister and Andy Hey were there to wave them off last Friday morning (16th) on a route that took in a few other football grounds including Burnley's Turf Moor, the DW Stadium in Wigan and Goodison Park.
Cycling through the heat and a thunderstorm, the pair arrived at Bramley Moore last Sunday, having raised £1,010.
Keith and Darren would like to thank everyone that supported their brilliant effort.
