Parras manager search after Godber departure

9th April, 2017

Handsworth Parramore are looking for a new manager after Mick Godber ended almost four years in charge of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side on Saturday.

His reign ended with a 4-1 victory at Bottesford Town, a win that saw the Amber Parras climb up into fourth position in the table.

A statement on Handsworth's website said: "The club have accepted Mick's decision and wish Mick and his family all the very best for their future.

"Mick has been with the club for over three-and-a-half years and narrowly missed out on promotion last season leading the Ambers to runners up in the NCEL Premier Division.

"This season, he's worked tirelessly and spearheaded our best ever FA Cup run."

Chairman Pete Whitehead said: "It's been a great pleasure working with Mick over the last four seasons and he will always be welcome at our club! I would like to wish him and his family all the very best for the future.

"A hugely popular and infectious man, Mick has been a joy to have around the club and his presence will be missed by all.

"We thank Mick for his efforts during his three-and-a-half years and wish him well in his next steps - a true gentleman and a fine football man who will always be welcome at our club."

Godber added: "I would like to thank everyone associated with Handsworth for the opportunity to manage the club and for all their help during my time at the club.

"This year, we've not met expectations and as the manager I take full responsibility and therefore I've decided it's time for me to stand aside. I walk away with many good memories and new friends."

Applications are now being invited for anyone interested in taking the vacant first team manager's role by contacting Steve Holmes on 07930 443453 or at info@handsworthpfc.co.uk.

Applications will only be considered via written submission of interest in the role together with an accompanying CV to the above email address.

All applications will be treated in the strictest of confidence with the closing date for applications midnight on Friday 14th April, 2017, and each application received will be acknowledged and put forward for short listing where appropriate.
