Pickering Town have announced that Tony Hackworth has been given the manager's job on a permanent basis.

He had been in caretaker charge of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side since Mitch Cook left the Pikes a fortnight ago.

A statement from the club read: "We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Hackworth as manager of Pickering Town Community Football Club with immediate effect.

"The Club wish Tony every success for the future.

"There was a high standard of applications for the post and it was a difficult decision to make."
