New management team and chairman at Nostell

6th June, 2024

Nostell Miners Welfare have announced that, after what they have called "a lengthy and at times stressful recruitment drive", they have appointed a new chairman and management team.

The NCEL Division One side are delighted that Liam Willingham will be the new chairman.

A statement released by the club said: "He comes into the club with over ten years’ experience at various levels and has the key knowledge and understanding needed to take the club forward."

Matt Wright, who has had spells with Robin Hood Athletic and Shelley, has been installed as Nostell's new first team manager whilst his long-time assistant Mark Wright joins him in the dugout.

Mark Maspero has been named first team coach with Chris Clay joining as sports therapist.

The statement continued: "We would like to thank all the many applicants for the interest in our club.

"A lot of hard work to do, but everyone at the club is excited for the future after a very difficult few months."
