New commercial manager at Emley
26th January, 2017
AFC Emley has appointed its first dedicated commercial manager with Tony Worthington taking the post.
Tony has been a managing director of several companies, most recently a Bury-based chemical distributor. He lives in nearby Highburton with his wife Kathryn.
Club chairman Nigel Wakefield said: "This isn't just a football team we're running, it's a small business and we need to look at every avenue to generate more income.
"Tony's appointment means, for the first time, we have someone focused on generating revenue from commercial deals, partnerships and sponsorship."
On his appointment to the role, Worthington (pictured) added: "I'm about to retire from a long career in business and this was the ideal opportunity to use my skills, experience and contacts in a new challenge to benefit a club I'm quickly growing fond of.
"I look forward to working with our commercial partners - old and new - to keep AFC Emley financially match-fit and moving forwards."
The club is now looking to grow the club's sponsors and partners which already include well-known businesses such as Integra Advisers, Fantastic Media, Wm Sykes, Kalcrest and Kirklees College.
AFC Emley has a range of packages to suit all businesses and budgets. For an informal chat about how you can join the team, contact Tony on 07977 074745 or email tony@afcemley.co.uk.
