Mace names new backroom line-up
24th March, 2015
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic manager Dave Mace has announced his new backroom staff line-up brought on by the departure of Wayne Thompson to Retford United.
First team coach Nev Hunt, who came to the club with Thompson from Hallam where they worked together, is to step up to assistant manager with immediate effect.
Hunt also was in charge of women's football at the University of Sheffield until recently, having two successful seasons winning the league in the first season and finishing runners-up this term.
Prior to that, Hunt was involved with the men's set up that came runners-up and got to the semi-final of the plate in a national competition.
The club say that Hunt's promotion is handed to him "based on the hard work and enthusiasm for the game and is a welcome presence in the changing rooms and vocally in the dugout."
When asked about his promotion, his response was: "I'm buzzing, over the the moon to get the opportunity for which I'll give no less than 100%.
"We've got a fantastic bunch of lads here who need to know that they are valuable and, especially as we don't have a budget, these guys turn up and put a shift in week in week out all for the pure love of the game.
"I'm looking forward to getting going and hope we kick on and move up the table to a more realistic position."
Taking over Hunt's old role is former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Rob Poulter.
Currently, he is a coach at Rotherham United academy and he brings to the club a UEFA B Licence as well as the experience of being an ex-pro at Hillsborough and in the NCEL with playing spells at Handsworth, Parkgate and Penistone Church.
The Briggers say that the "appointments will surely give a fresh breath around the place and hopefully be a positive move in which we are hoping to take the club."
