Worsbrough say farewell to Thompson
19th March, 2015
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic have accepted the resignation of Wayne Thompson as assistant manager who has moved on to take on the same role at Retford United.
A statement from the Toolstation NCEL Division One side said: "He has been a tireless worker and has contributed hugely to the club - especially on matchdays - but also with his knowledge of the players in the Northern Counties East League and beyond.
"Wayne also proved to be a more than competent deputy for secretary Charlie Wyatt when he was sidelined while recovering from a serious operation.
"Wayne will be missed but we can see that he has taken the opportunity to resume his association with Chris Sellars, a respected manager who Wayne has ably supported in the past at Hallam.
"Worsbrough Bridge would like to thank Wayne for all of his efforts with the club this season and we wish him well in his new appointment."
