Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2023/24 #37

3rd December, 2023

Only two games survived the freezing temperatures in the Toolstation NCEL on Saturday with one match taking place in each of the divisions.

Campion have moved four points clear at the top of the Premier Division after their 3-0 victory on the 3G pitch at Bottesford Town.

Patrick Sykes put the visitors ahead in stoppage time after a tight first half before his second on 84 minutes and a goal from Aidan Day ensured the points were going back to Bradford.

Bottesford remain in seventeenth spot following their defeat, two points ahead of bottom side Goole AFC.

Meanwhile, in Division One, pitch covers saved the day for Retford FC as their home clash with basement side Swallownest was given the go ahead.

And, the hosting Choughs took full advantage with a 9-0 victory that lifts them up into twelfth.

Alex Wonham netted four of the goals - including his first that came after just 42 seconds for the perfect start - whilst there was one each for Zach Casburn, Matthew Thompson, Liam Bennent and Aaron Sennett-Neilson as well as an own goal for Max Skelton.

The loss leaves Swallownest thirteen points away from safety at the foot of the table.
