Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2016/17 #13
18th September, 2016
All three of the surviving Toolstation NCEL teams in this season's Emirates FA Cup are in to Monday's draw for the Third Round of Qualifying.
AFC Mansfield and Handsworth Parramore are certain to be in the next stage whilst Bridlington Town will replay in midweek after being just four minutes away from joining them.
Mansfield beat a side two levels above them for the second round in a row as they won 1-0 at Coalville Town, Gary Bradshaw with the vital strike seven minutes from time to keep their spectacular run going.
Parramore were also celebrating after goals from Michael Harcourt and Danny Buttle at the end of each half saw them through with a 2-0 home victory over Burscough.
Bridlington thought Joel Sutton's nineteenth minute strike was going to be enough to cause a massive giantkilling act at home to Harrogate Town but their National League North visitors equalised late on to force another tie on Tuesday night.
In the Premier Division, the top three sides all won to create a little daylight between themselves and the chasing pack.
A 4-0 home win for Cleethorpes Town against Maltby Main sees them maintain first place, Peter Winn and Brody Robertson netting in the first half with Jack Richardson and Luke Mascall adding to their tally after the interval.
Second placed Liversedge grabbed a dramatic 3-2 victory over visitors Worksop Town, Cody Cromack's injury-time winner claiming the points after Henry Sibenge had seemingly rescued a draw for the away side.
Albion Sports stay third after they produced late drama with goals from Daniel Facey and Karl Hall's second of the afternoon seeing them come from 3-2 down to win 4-2 at Garforth Town.
Thackley are up to fourth as Benjamin Joyce and Daniel Brodbent struck in the last ten minutes to beat Rainworth Miners Welfare, 3-1, at Dennyfield.
And, Bottesford Town stay fifth despite a 1-0 victory at Hemsworth Miners Welfare, Gareth Barlow with the winner with the last kick of the opening period.
Armthorpe Welfare and Parkgate remain the bottom two sides and without a point, Armthorpe losing 2-1 at Staveley Miners Welfare with Steven Carty converting a late winner for the hosts whilst two goals each for Niall Sultan and James Done helped Retford United to a 5-0 defeat of home side Parkgate.
Paul Beesley grabbed a last gasp equaliser for Harrogate Railway Athletic as they drew 2-2 at Barton Town Old Boys and there were no goals at the Worksop Van Hire Stadium between Clipstone and Pickering Town.
Winterton Rangers are now top of Division One by three points after their 5-1 victory at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, thanks to goals from Jake Rotherham, Joshua Batty, Matthew Crane, Martin Jones and Thomas Finnigan.
The two sides that were level with them on sixteen points at the start of the day, Hallam and Hall Road Rangers both lost.
Hallam let a goal lead slip in stoppage time at Knaresborough Town as Jonathan Maullin's strike and a second from Sebastian Carole saw the home team triumph, 4-3.
And, Rangers went down 3-1 at home to AFC Emley with Liam Schofield, Ashley Flynn and Jordan Townend scoring in a deadly seven minute spell at the start of the second half.
They are replaced in second and third by Pontefract Collieries who drew 1-1 at home to Grimsby Borough and Penistone Church who won 3-0 at Dronfield Town, respectively.
A Nathan Keightley hat-trick helped Glasshoughton Welfare to a 4-1 win at Shirebrook Town to move them up to seventh just behind Borough.
Ollerton Town remain in the basement despite picking up their first point of the campaign, Lewis Bingham's early strike cancelled out midway through the second period in a 1-1 draw at Campion.
There were two goals each for Jake Vernon in Rossington Main's 3-0 home win over Eccleshill United and for Daniel Sheriffe as Yorkshire Amateur beat visitors Westella & Willerby, 4-0.
Selby Town and Nostell Miners Welfare shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium and Brigg Town made it three wins out of three at home as they beat Teversal, 2-1.
