Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2016/17 #8
2nd September, 2016
Liversedge are the new leaders of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division after a 4-0 win at Maltby Main in midweek.
Joe Walton's fourth minute opener, added to in the second period by Rhys Davies, Stephen Wales and Vaughan Redford means they are one of three teams on thirteen points, ahead of Cleethorpes Town and Hemsworth Miners Welfare on goal difference.
Cleethorpes were overtaken by Sedge despite a victory of their own, 2-1 at Rainworth Miners Welfare, with a Luke Mascall double in the first half-hour proving enough even though there was a goal just before half-time for the hosts from Aaron Moxam.
And, Nash Connolly earned Hemsworth a single goal win at Barton Town Old Boys with his strike midway through the first period.
Athersley Recreation are fourth, a point behind the top three, after coming from two goals down to win 5-2 at home to Retford United.
Jake Park and James Done put the Badgers in front after twenty minutes but the hosts had levelled by break through Bradley Johnston and Tom Copping before a Kai Hancock brace and Samuel Bebbington got on the scoresheet to seal the victory.
Fifth-placed Handsworth Parramore destroyed hosts Harrogate Railway Athletic, 7-0, with the match over by half-time.
Gareth Griffiths, Alex Rippon, Daniel Holland, Simon Harrison and Kieran Wells had put the visitors five goals up with Michael Harcourt adding a sixth and Wells his second of the evening in the second period.
Oliver Fearon struck four as AFC Mansfield won 5-1 at home to Albion Sports to move the Bulls up into eighth spot whilst Worksop Town are up to eleventh after beating visitors Garforth Town by the same scoreline and an Andrew Norfolk double claimed a 2-1 win for Bridlington Town at Bottesford Town.
A hat-trick from Jake Currie helped Hallam to a 4-0 home victory over Rossington Main and they climb to fourth in Division One.
They are just ahead of Pontefract Collieries who are now fifth after their 5-3 win at AFC Emley, Christopher Wood with a six minute hat-trick at the start of the game.
There were two goals each for Thomas Finnigan and Matthew Crane as Winterton Rangers beat visitors Shirebrook Town, 4-1.
They are now seventh, one place above Knaresborough Town who won 2-1 at home to Nostell Miners Welfare.
