The Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League have postponed Wednesday night's League Cup tie between Hallam and Harrogate Railway Athletic pending an investigation.

It has come to the league's notice that Harrogate Railway Athletic may have fielded a player in a previous round who had taken part in the competition for another club earlier in the season.

Section 7 of the league's Cup Competition rules (click here) states that no individual player shall play for more than one competing club in the same competition in a season.

The Quarter-Final tie will remain postponed until the matter has been discussed by the league's Management Board and the league will not be commenting further before then.
