Free entry to Dronfield game

Dronfield Town have announced another ?free entry? day for their Toolstation NCEL Division One home game against Nostell Miners Welfare on Saturday 25th March.

The previous match with free admission, against Ollerton Town, attracted over 190 spectators and the club hope to break through the 200 mark this time round.

Once again, the club expect many of its junior members to attend with the boys' under 7s team acting as mascots for the day.

A club spokesperson said: "It's a great opportunity to come and sample local non-league football.

"If you are a regular supporter, a disillusioned supporter of a professional club, or somebody coming to a match for the first time, you will be more than welcome at the HE Barnes Stadium on the 25th."

During the match the club will hold a 'bucket' collection on behalf of a local charity.

Ginner joins Dronfield

New Dronfield Town manager Chris Millington has completed his backroom staff with the appointment of Chris Bullock as coach of the Toolstation NCEL Division One side.

Bullock, also known as Ginner, has previously worked with Chris at both Clipstone and Shirebrook Town, and joins Nick Siddons as part of the managerial team.

Millington commented on the appointment: "I've worked with Ginner for a number of years now and he will bring a wealth of experience with him to Town."

Millington takes reins at Dronfield

Dronfield Town have announced that Chris Millington has returned to the club to become the manager of its Toolstation NCEL Division One side.

He was assistant to previous boss Craig Butler when they were promoted to the NCEL in 2013/14 before leaving to take the helm at Clipstone where he won the Division One title a year later.

Accompanying Millington will be Nick Siddons as his assistant and they will take charge of the home game against Brigg Town on Tuesday (28th), assisted by reserve manager Adam Brown and U21 boss Craig Wilson.

On his appointment, Millington said: "It's an honour to be offered the job of my home town club, a club that has been close to my heart for many years.

"It is with excitement that I start this role with a real focus on how we can develop the good young group of players that we currently have at the club.

"We will also be setting achievable targets to make sure that the club is moving forward on the pitch.

"I would like to thank Craig for the success he has brought to the club during his time as manager.

"Our first game in charge will be Tuesday night at home to Brigg where we will be looking to get off to a good start."

Management duo leave Dronfield

Dronfield Town have parted company with their first team manager Craig Butler and coach Jon Gray.

A statement from the Toolstation NCEL Division One side said: "The club would like to put on record its sincere thanks to Craig and Jon for their service and commitment to the club.

"In particular to Craig who has been at the helm for approaching ten years, steering the club to promotion from the Midland Alliance League, through the Central Midlands League and into the Northern Counties East League.

"His work on and off the field has played a very major part in the club's rise through the leagues, and the club owe a great deal of gratitude for his work and enthusiasm over the years.

"The club will make a further announcement on the managerial position in due course."

Major sponsorship deal for Dronfield

Dronfield Town have announced a major new sponsorship deal for the 2016/17 season.

H.E.Barnes, a provider of mechanical and electrical solutions based in Sheffield, has agreed to sponsor the club's ground and stands for the next two seasons. This sponsorship will further H.E.Barnes' support of local grassroots football.

Dronfield's home ground will be renamed The H.E.Barnes Stadium and the current stand will be known as The H.E.Barnes Stand.

A second stand is due to be erected and completed during the coming season and will also carry the name of The H.E.Barnes Stand.

In announcing the deal Patrick Williams, Town's club chairman, warmly thanked H.E.Barnes for their willingness to be associated with the club and expressed the club's great appreciation for their support and looked forward to a long association between the two parties.
